KYLIE MAR: A classic sitcom reunion took place Thursday on “Young Sheldon” when series regular Craig T. Nelson shared a scene with guest star Bill Fagerbakke 24 years after the conclusion of their long-running ABC sitcom, “Coach.” In this show, they played just a few old buddies catching up at a bar. So it was a bit like real life.
DALE BALLARD: Have you stopped someone who is fun lately?
OFFICER JAKE: A party clown. But what he was doing wasn’t fun.
DALE BALLARD: Do I want to know?
OFFICER JAKE: Not if you want to sleep tonight.
DALE BALLARD: Eh.
OFFICER JAKE: What’s new? Still dating that Connie?
DALE BALLARD: Yes. Oh yes.
KYLIE MAR: Viewers on Twitter loved the reunion saying things like, Dauber from “Coach” is on “Young Sheldon” with Craig T. Nelson. I screamed so loud. “Coach” was one of my favorite shows growing up. And “Coach” and Dauber’s reunion on “Young Sheldon”. # amazing sauce. While Nelson has continued to appear on major network shows over the years, Fagerbakke has made a name for himself as the voice of Patrick Starr on “SpongeBob Squarepants”.
And as “Young Sheldon” executive producer Steve Molaro recently pointed out in an interview with “TV Line,” their chemistry still feels natural.
DALE BALLARD: How much do you know about backstage slot locations?
OFFICER JAKE: Why? Are you planning to put one in your store?
DALE BALLARD: No, uh-uh. No, actually, I’m asking Connie because she’s interested.
OFFICER JAKE: Hmm, these places are harmless. We are looking the other way.
DALE BALLARD: Well, that’s good to know.
