Why the One Piece Episode 1014 release date postponed?

Unfortunately, the next chronological episode of the One Piece anime adaptation (issue #1014) has been delayed from its Japanese broadcast, which was originally set for a release date of Sunday, March 13.and.

Indeed, Toei Animation had its internal networks hacked by a third party in early March, which corrupted files and affected the scheduled release of several titles, including One Piece.

Toei Animation released a press release on the hack, explaining how “the impact on TV animation works [was] due to a system failure caused by unauthorized access to our network. »

One Piece Episode 1014 Release Date Finally Confirmed

Today, April 6th, One Piece anime Japanese Twitter page finally confirmed that the series will make its highly anticipated return this month.

As revealed by the page, One Piece Episode 1014 will now be released worldwide on Sunday, April 17, 2022.

The series is set to return to its usual broadcast scheduling block in Japan, which means the anime is set to release at its usual time on Crunchyroll and Funimation:

  • Eastern Time: 9:00 p.m. EDT
  • UK time: 02:00 BST
  • European Time: 3:00 a.m. CEST
  • India Time: 6:30 PM IST
  • Philippines Time: 9:00 a.m. PHT
  • Australia Time: 10:30 a.m. ACST

On Sunday, April 10, the series will rerun episode 1013 in Japan, “Yamato’s Past! The man who came for an emperor of the sea!

Fans all over the world are thrilled to hear that One Piece will finally return with a new episode. Fortunately, each of these series also had the new release date of their delayed episodes revealed by Toei Animation. Dragon Quest will premiere on April 16, with Digimon Ghost Game and Delicious Part returning on April 17.

One Piece is getting a new collectible card game

The Toei Animation hack followed big news for the One Piece franchise, the confirmation of a new collectible card game.

Bandai has opened a new Twitter game page and website on Monday, March 7, sharing a trailer on their YouTube channel.

The card game will launch in Japan from July 2022, with an international launch expected later this year – a specific date is yet to be determined.

According to Anime News Network, the game will launch with four starter decks; Straw Hats, The Worst Generation, The Animal Kingdom Pirates, and The Seven Sea Lords.

Is the One Piece manga series also on hiatus?

The One Piece manga series was on hiatus the same week as Episode 1014 was delayed, with Eiichiro Oda taking his much-needed break. Luckily, the manga series is back on its regular schedule now, with One Piece Chapter 1046 set to release on Viz Media and Manga Plus from April 10.
