The Friends of the Monts Botanical Garden organized two days (March 2 and 3) of special events and guided tours highlighting Sean Kenny, the artist behind the popular Nature POP! exhibition, who was visiting from his home in the Netherlands. Mounts hosted over 300 distinguished sponsors, members, primary school students, elected officials and representatives of three county organizations: the Cultural Council for palm beach County, discover the palm-tree beaches and palm beach Departmental Council for Tourism Development.
Debuting in Mounts Florida through May 1, the exhibit features more than 40 sculptures made from more than 800,000 LEGO pieces. It explores the beauty of nature through highly stylized and colorful exhibits that contrast starkly with their surroundings. Produced by Imagine Expositions, Nature POP! blends art, science and innovation in the display of these sculptures. The location of each sculpture has been carefully planned and the surrounding landscaping has been designed and installed by Mounts’ botanical horticulture team.
Presenting sponsor of Nature POP! is the Hanley Foundation. Some sculptures and murals are sponsored by Renée Rotta, Lewis Pollack and Iggy; Zimmerman Tree Service; TD Bank; Braman Motorcars-Club Braman; and an anonymous donor.
