3D renderings can be pretty impressive, but as the internet has taught us today, they can also be pretty darn horrible. SpongeBob and his BFF Patrick Star have just come to life thanks to the artist Miguel Vasquez thanks to the magic of 3D drawing. And if you feel a little uncomfortable with the image, we don’t blame you.

Miguel’s rendering of SpongeBob SquarePants transforms the beloved and downright cute cartoon body into pale human flesh. His body maintains the same proportions as SpongeBob SquarePants, and that makes about three quarters of SpongeBob’s body to be his head. very apparent. The render also depicts him with huge eyeballs, plaque covered teeth and an ultralong version of his iconic red tie, which is sadly reminiscent of a certain president’s inauguration day tie.

Human Patrick is just as scary, unfortunately. To represent the pink exterior of the starfish, Miguel illustrated it with skin that looks like a really even sunburn. The design also makes the fact that Patrick doesn’t have a nose or ears very obvious, and we’ll probably be focusing on that whenever we watch the beloved series from now on. (Patrick’s head 3D also looks seriously Saturday Night LiveConeheads.)

According to BuzzFeed, Miguel has been a huge fan of real-life cartoon renders for quite some time, and SpongeBob SquarePants eventually inspired him to try this art form for himself. BuzzFeed also asked Miguel how he felt for all the people who will never sleep again after seeing his renderings, and he replied, “That was the plan from the start.” Thanks, Miguel.

Let’s just say hope this is not what spongebob and patrick look like in the Sponge Bob SquarePants musical that’s headed for Broadway.
