Just as we have our must-see romance movies, there are also Valentine’s Day episodes for kids on February 14th. Of course, most kids aren’t too fond of the soft romance that comes with the holidays. While adults worry about the chaos of booking restaurants and babysitters, little ones may be more concerned about those cheesy character-themed cards for classmates and those heart-shaped candies. Even so, many kids’ shows celebrated Valentine’s Day, or the general subject of love, with cute themed episodes.

Most of the episodes featured on this list deal with school crushes, familial love, and platonic friendships. After all, how many best friends do you know who will make you a giant edible chocolate balloon or bake you a huge cookie? There are also valuable lessons to learn, like the ultimate cure for a broken heart and the do’s and don’ts of getting your dog a valentine. Also, who knew Arnold Shortman from Hi Arnold! could be such a Casanova? And no matter how mean the world may seem, there are good people, pretty faces and all.

Doc McStuffins: “My Huggy Valentine/Huggy Bear”

In the Season 1 episode, Doc’s parents give her a new Valentine’s Day toy she names Val, which she brings to life with her magical stethoscope. Lambie becomes jealous of the new toy and Doc diagnoses her with “splithartitis”, meaning she suffers from a broken heart. Lambie goes on to tell Doc that before Val, she was his number one hug and best friend and that Valentine’s Day was his day. Doc reassures her that despite Val, no one can ever take her place.

Daniel Tiger’s neighborhood: “It’s Love’s Day / Daniel’s Love’s Day Surprise

The neighborhood of Make Believe celebrates “Love Day” in the Season 2 episode. Daniel and his friends find special ways to show their love and care. A fun tactic is to dance, sing, and tell jokes. In the second part of the episode titled, Daniel’s Love Day Surprise grandfather comes to visit for Love Day. To show his grandfather how much he loves him, Daniel organizes a treasure hunt and hides little hearts around the house for him to find.

If you give a cookie to a mouse: “If you give a mouse a cookie for Valentine’s Day”

To show how big her feelings are for her human best friend Oliver, Mouse creates a giant Valentine’s Day cookie for him. Mouse and his friends go to the cookie factory to create his masterpiece But getting him through the door is the catch! There’s even a Valentine’s Day song that little ones can sing along with Mouse. The anime series is based on the children’s book, Happy Valentine’s Day, smile! by Laura Numeroff.

Curious George: “Happy Valentine’s Day, George!/Oh stag

In this Season 9 episode, George wants to create the best homemade Valentine’s Day card for his friends using sponge shapes, red paint, and a waffle iron. He even ends up creating his own Valentine’s Printing Press monkey! This is a two part episode, the second part is about George trying to stop a hungry deer from eating all his flowers.

Mickey’s house: “A surprise for Minnie”

Just a sweet reminder of the important ladies in Mickey’s and Donald Duck’s life. In this delightful Season 1 episode, Mickey Mouse needs help making and delivering a Valentine’s Day card to Minnie Mouse after Goofy reminds him to make it! Instead of buying something, he decides to make her a card. In exchange, Minnie offers her a bouquet of flowers. Meanwhile, Donald Duck forgets a Valentine’s Day gift for Daisy, which upsets her. Mickey and the Mouseketools help her out and give Daisy a brand new baby blue bow.

Sponge Bob SquarePants: “Valentine’s day

It’s more of a platonic Valentine’s Day-themed episode, between Spongebob and Patrick of course! In the Season 1 episode, SpongeBob and Sandy come together to give Patrick the best Valentine’s Day gift. While Sandy is working on the present, Spongebob distracts Patrick with activities. The two end up going to the carnival. But Patrick grows increasingly impatient and mayhem ensues, including an attack by chocolate-eating scallops and havoc at the carnival when he thinks SpongeBob has given him nothing. Before he really loses, Sandy appears with his chocolate hot air balloon.

Rugrats: “be my valentine

This might be one of the few Rugrats episodes where you’ll see Susie and Angelica in the same clip with genuine smiles. But that has nothing to do with their arguably complicated friendship. In the two-part episode, the girls fight over their crushes. Angelica dresses up as Cupid, while Tommy, Chucky and the other babies look for a Valentine for their dog, Spike and the adults dress up in pretty wild costumes for the Valentine’s Day dance “Love through the ages “. Sounds like a way to maintain love.

The Proud Family: “The Legend of Johnny Lovely

This particular episode isn’t necessarily characterized as Valentine’s Day, but the charisma of the unique guest character drives it through. It’s also one of the few episodes you’ll hear Grandpa sing. In the season two episode, a guy named Johnny Lovely comes to town and Penny and her friends are immediately drawn to him. But Penny thinks Johnny is too good to be true. After all, no one is perfect and can’t look good and be good on the inside too. But it turned out that he was really a really nice person. And it didn’t hurt that he wasn’t too bad to look at either!

Recreate: “My Funny Valentine

An underrated Disney Channel animated series that millennials loved and today can appreciate. In this classic Season 3 Valentine’s Day episode, TJ isn’t in a nerdy, loving mood and instead decides to make fun cards for his classmates by turning holiday messages into jokes. But his plan to be a prankster backfires when all the girls in the class end up liking his cards, including the Ashleys, earning him a spot on their wall of “acceptable boys” in their clubhouse. It is undoubtedly the first Break episode in which the Ashleys and other girls fall for TJ Before that, no other girl than Spinelli showed interest.

Hi Arnold:Arnold’s Valentine’s Day

Arnold finds out he has not one but two Valentines in this Season 8 episode. The two girls want to offer dinner, which Arnold accepts after being convinced by his friend Gerald. The plan will be to take them both to French restaurants, across from each other. We know, smart right? But here’s the kicker – neither girl knows about the other. And one of her dates, a pen pal named Cécile, turns out to be Helga. This episode is a great lesson on why you shouldn’t bite off more than you can chew.
